Dead On Arrival,
by E. A. Larson, 2010-06-25

Cannot rate anything about the operation of the product, because mine did not work when I received it. Whole lotta "No Signal" but nothing else to report, so it's going back. Yes, I did try every conceivable option to get the signal, and verified I did have good signal by plugging in another TV to the same input ... nada. What I found especially annoying, other than the obvious lack of functionality, was the amazingly poor "Operating Instructions" manual ... bad joke, and of little or no help whatsoever. Then I tried to call the tech support number they have noted in several places (please call, please do not return), sat on hold for 15 minutes listening to Muzak, and gave up.

I suspect someone broke this and returned it (the box looked like it had been repacked, so I was wary when I got it), but maybe it came DOA from the factory, I don't know. After being less than pleased with the documentation and failed attempt at reaching tech support though, I will not be replacing this with another Viore ... first and last time I will bother experimenting with this brand. I was not entirely confident in my choice when I ordered this, partially because I knew nothing about this brand, but saw good reviews here, and it fit my needs perfectly (small space on the corner of my desk), so thought I'd give it a try.

Now I really wish I'd trusted my instincts not to.

So, I'd consider this unit a roll of the dice ... maybe you'll plug it in, it'll work, and you'll be happy (or maybe it won't, and you won't!).

I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,
by Dee Harrison, 2010-06-15

I AM TRUELY AMAZED at how GREAT this tv is!! I had a 7" Haier portable tv that sucked, so I assumed that this portable wasn't going to be all of that! Oh how wrong was I!! I highly recommend this tv. I LOVE IT!!!!!

Good overall portable TV & monitor,
by J. Graganta, 2010-05-23

I needed a portable monitor and instead of just getting a monitor, I decided to get TV with inputs instead (aka a TV that can be used as a monitor). The 10.2" screen is much better then I expected. Originally I was looking for a 7" screen, but decided on a larger screen (but not too big to make it cumbersome as a portable TV/monitor). The size is large enough to provide a clear picture on video camera footage for adjustment or remote viewing. The accessories and TV itself was small enough to fit into a small tool soft case I already had (12"x12"x3" in size).

The different power source options come in handy. Most quick setups, the battery can handle short viewing of footage and or watching TV programs. But having a 12V car and wall adapter helps. Some TV's I looked at did not clearly state if it could be powered from a 12V car outlet or if it had to run off the internal battery only.

The USB and memory card slots are nice options and functioned fine. BUT users have to note what KIND of files they are trying to be read as it is specified in the manual. I found it a plus to be able to view camera pics on a memory card with out having to use a camera OR a computer. When put on repeat, you can actually have a digital picture frame or video clip player.

The reception with the enclosed antenna is reasonable. I say reasonable since it depends on a LOT of factors. Your station signal strength, topography, weather, buildings and location. Since old analog TV signals are gone, the analog function is a mute point. The antenna picked up all the channels that are being received by my home TV and one of my home antenna's is a pair of "rabbit ears". I used it to watch TV in the parking lot and the magnetic base of the supplied antenna is handy & works. Just open the window, stick it on the roof and plug the thing in and watch tv. I tried to see if it would work as a mobile TV, but did not work (as the manual stated)- but the antenna was on the dash vs stuck on the roof. I suspect that if a better antenna was used, it could work while the vehicle was moving (for use by the passengers of coarse). Worked great when I was BBQ-ing and wanted to watch TV at the same time.

The remote works for what is needed with this TV. It takes a while to get use to it. I don't mind having to scroll between channels since in my area, there is VERY few stations. And the 'sub channels' are usually under 4 each, so the total channels available in my area is under 30. I do not mind pushing buttons to get to the channel I want quickly.

The built in speakers are adequate for the unit. If the location is quite enough, it will work provide adequate sound. It would not take much to use the A/V adapter to hook up an amplified speaker unit or to use one of those 'old school' transmitters to play the sound through a radio (or vehicle radio). We have all seen the small battery powered units that allowed the old CD players to transmit the song to a radio station instead of using tape deck adapters.

Overall, I am happy with this product. So far it has lived up to everything I expected and has worked out in everything I wanted to do with this unit. The best part was I was able to acquire one at a discounted price rather than the average advertised online price I have seen. (Eventually, I hope to pick up a self enclosed portable DVD player with A/V outputs so another person could use this TV to watch, not just looking over the shoulder.)

What A Disappointment!,
by K. Griffin, 2010-04-21

I was excited to purchase this portable digital lcd tv for my bedroom. I was looking forward to viewing the 10.2 inch screen, since I am presently using a 7 inch digital tv (which works marvelously). Upon setting up the new Viore tv, I come to find out I get no reception whatsoever! All I got was a blue screen and a lot of aggravation. I've since returned it. I think it's only fair to consumers to disclose that you need a cable hookup an external antenna in order to make the darn thing work!! That little side antenna it came with was absolutely useless! I would rate it "0" stars, but that isn't one of the options.

It does not Play MP4s like it advises in the Manual,
by S. J. Jensen, 2010-04-10

Unwrapped it today, plugged in a USB thumb Drive and SD Card with MP4s on them.
The system could not read either of them.
If you are looking for a multi-media player & monitor, this unfortunately is not it.

Also, the manufacture's website stated that it had an HDMI port... it does not.

However, the remote is good and the basic functions of the TV are good too.
I was surprised how clear the picture was when viewing it from either side instead of from being right in front of it.

If you are just looking for a basic & compact TV, you will be pleased.
If you are looking for a multi-media player... like me, you will be shipping it back the day you recieve it.
