I've owned this for about 3 months and it stopped working on the third month. I did some research on this product and it seems that i wasn't the only one. I heard it was easy to get a return on it, but im rating this 2 out of 5 stars because they shouldn't be selling a product that has amount of defect and I just hate the hassle of returning and item.
Poor revision of what was an excellent product,

The M8-HT-PRO was an excellent surge suppressor, but Panamax is restructuring their product line, and it has been discontinued in favor of this M8-AV-PRO. They look almost identical, and most of the specifications are as well. However, where the M8-HT-PRO had an excellent UL1449 let-through rating of 330V, this new M8-AV-PRO model has a bottom-of-the-line 500V rating. There are countless surge suppressors available at much lower prices with better performance than this. I tried contacting Panamax repeatedly to ask about this change, but they will not get back to me. My guess is that they are trying to lead consumers into buying their more expensive power conditioners.
If you can find an M8-HT-PRO, they are going for around $90 now, which is a great deal while they last. Next time I'm in the market for a surge suppressor for expensive equipment, if I can't find an M8-HT-PRO, I'll be looking elsewhere. This is really unfortunate, as the AVM relay feature is very compelling, and as far as I can tell, unique to Panamax floor units (this type of under-voltage protection is normally found only on expensive component power conditioners).

This power management and surge protector is great. I noticed immediately that the picture on my 65" DLP TV is cleaner and the colors are more vibrant. Although I've not had any electrical hits on it, the power management seems to work. I've not noticed any flickers that you can get when the power fluctuates. So far, I am extremely pleased with the Panamax M8-AV-PRO. I feel confident that in the event of any serious surges or lightning strikes, my home theater will be protected by the protect/disconnect feature. And, as always, Amazon carries top of the line products with good prices and great delivery....
