Shoddy Product,

I bought this TV/DVD combo in June 2009. Last night I was watching TV when the screen suddenly went black. I checked the outlet, etc. & tried to turn it on again using the remote & then the power button on the TV. Nothing worked. I called Coby tech support & they told me that because the warranty had expired, I could either call in a TV repairman or BUY A NEW TV!!! But I had this TV for ONLY 9 months!!!Needless to say I was not happy with this answer. Bad business practice & shoddy material. I WILL buy another TV, but it will not be manufactured by Coby. I e-mailed Coby about my dissatisfaction & I am filing a complaint with The Better Business Bureau.

 

DVD failed after one use,

I received this tv I quickly verified that it work. Played on DVD, changed channels. Exercised the features. All seemed OK. Since this is a backup unit, I did not use it until weeks later. When I tried to play the second DVD it failed within a few minutes. Has not played a DVD since. So do yourself a favor and buy a different product. This one is unreliable.

Do not, under any circumstance, waste your money on this product! I bought this tv in February because it is digital and I needed to replace a non-digital one in my kitchen for the digital conversion. The size was right, and the price, with the added incentive of a built in dvd player. When I got the tv though, it wouldn't pick up ANY stations. Turns out it needs a separate antennae to have any hope of receiving a digital signal. I still was able to watch dvds on it though, so figured I'd just either buy an antennae later, or have it hooked up to cable. The sound quality however, is terrible. You have to turn it up to MAXIMUM volume when you watch dvds, and even then you can't hear some of the dialogue if the movie is a "low talker". Now, after only using it for 8 months, the dvd player has stopped working. So right now it's really just an expensive doorstop.

 

Remote CANNOT be replaced,

We lost the remote control and then discovered that there is no remote code that can be used to program a replacement universal remote. Deep in the FAQs on the Coby website it admits this. And Coby does not offer a replacement remote for sale. So - unless you're sure you will never lose or break your remote, don't buy this!

 

13 inch tv/dvd,

This tv works great,it has a separate mode that pulls up all digital channels,they are crystal clear,and the dvd makes it nice for the kids,we take it in our trailer on camping trips.
