Check Your HDMI Connection First!,
by WESMAK, 2010-08-06

When I bought this, I thought all of my problems were solved. But this adapter is backwards from what I need, and I checked to see if I could use it on 4 TVs in my house!

It's the way that it connects. HDMI has a wider side at one end of the connector so it only fits one way. Well, with the Panasonic and LG wide screen TVs I have use HDMI ports that are positioned so if I used this right angle adapter in the back ports it would point up, or at the side ports it would point toward the front of the TV not the back of the TV!

My solution was to get the swivable adapters, and I still haven't found anywhere or anyone that can use this angled unit in a way that they would prefer, with the wire pointing down or towards the back of the TV once the adapter was installed.

So, look at the photo, then check your TV's HDMI port and see if it will work for you. If not, use the adapters that swivel both ways! Amazon sells both types!

Works perfectly,

This angle bracket is solid and well made. It was higher quality than I was expecting from the picture. It looks long in the photo, especially compared to other angle brackets, but it stuck out less than I thought it would. My TV is wall mounted and the cable was hitting the wall when I tilted the TV. Adding this angle bracket allowed it to move freely without the worry of damaging either the HDMI cable or the port.

After plugging it in, I checked several disks and noticed no signal degradation. Also, there was no loss of functionality; the TV remote could still be used to control my Bluray player. In my experience with computers, I have found you can lose functionality when you use an adapter, but I haven't experienced any functionality loss with this so far.

I bought a new receiver the other day and am having trouble fitting it on the shelf because the HDMI cables stick out too far. So I have ordered two more of these so it will fit.
